I know we must all be weary of all the bad news from around the world, everything from BP irresponsibility to apologetic Umpires, another foot in mouth Congressman, novice World Cup referees and  screaming patriots who claim to love America, but only some Americans.  However, there is great news too.  Americans, even in the worst of times, have historically reached out to help those in need, regardless of how challenging their own financial situation.  Remember Haiti and Katrina?  And how about the Americans running with Christopher Gergen in a race across America in support of helping those most in need of help in the Durham area?

However, let’s not lie to ourselves, for that is the worst lie one can tell.  Yes, we were duped by an administration of oil men who self-servingly cut loose a horde of corporate rapists on our economy & real estate investments, on our International reputation & National Prestige,  on our children’s education  and on the potential of our way of life.  Resurrecting the best that we knew and did will take decades, just like repairing the oil spill in the Gulf.  However, resurrecting who we were and are, is as easy as turning a deaf ear to those who twist the meaning of the Constitution to justify inciting sermons of violent Red vs. Blue.  Let us instead, listen to the still small voice within, and we will know the truth that will set us free, to again be the best ensemble ever.

When Americans hang together, the Nation is at its Ellis Island Best!  Tonight, Mon 6/21 starting at 8pm, LARRY KING LIVE on CNN, is hosting a telethon that gives all Americans an opportunity to prove yet again, that when the going gets tough, Americans get busy helping each other see it through and prosper.  Despite all attempts of naysayers like Rush, Beck and Palin who seem dedicated to keeping us "a house divided against itself," this is still the America of 1776 and Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, who rallied behind FDR to fight the good fight to save an entire world, and Yes We Did.

With a seemingly constant stream of tornadoes, flash floods, mud slides, oil slimed beaches, a dying Gulf – all on the eve of Hurricane Season, our natural national backbone tree may feel like its being bent so far it may break, but we’ve survived and surpassed all expectations of our character many times before, and as long as we do not allow ourselves to give in to the convenient combative rhetoric that comes from desperate people eager to take advantage of our fears, in desperate times, "We Shall Overcome."  Understand, we are not the only ones here.  We may not even always be the important one, but we are  All One  every moment we practice “United We Stand” as more than a war cry.

"This is not the “End Time” nor “End of altDays,” as a corporate owned media with a, “if it bleeds, it leads” mentality," wants us to believe.  However, it is a Revelation, a chance for Renewal and Resurrection of our from the gut courage, to seize the day, realizing even when the roller coaster of life takes us for a dip, it is merely beginning its rise to the peak of the next mountain top.

We Are Not Alone, unless we choose to divide and conquer ourselves.  We are Americans, which is to say, we are the descendants of all nations of the world.  So in truth, historically, We Are One and we are the ones who are generally first in line to answer the call for help.  So please, don’t succumb to the extreme rhetoric of the blind leading the blind.  Pick up your telephone and help The King help those fighting to recapture a culture that is at least as important to our Nation as any seat of government, or any camera seeking politicians or any double talking or misguided Governors.

Let us all join together to proclaim:  “I Am The Master of My Fate and The Captain of My Soul,” and I won’t let BP or any Corporation or any corrupt member of Congress or Supreme Court Justice take that away from “We The People!
