We have bigger problems than a Swede resurrecting the memory of being bushwhacked by a President who also couldn’t master the English language. Such translation problems must be as frustrating for BP spokesmen, as is their goo, for those suffering through the face saving adieu of The Dick, who left us in residue of his corporate friendly policies and GW poo. Yes, I know, that was then, but sadly then still needs flushing out, and “We The small PEOPLE” are once again “Left Behind” drowning in corporate lobby, with even more need for side stepping elephant do, dumped by Joe Barton’s, “I’m sorry.”
While in the Gulf region, the heartbreak, frustration and devastation for those trying to survive the crimes & misdemeanors of Cheney’s friends, the frightening reality is, only now has begun an in depth POV of Corporate sins. This American leaders portend, but have failed to visit. So now POTUS strives to stem the tide, imposing private lessons on BP amidst chorus of National pride. Locking horns in middle of oil stream, this is no Rumsfeld style pee contest, is it? Since 1980 election to our shame, many fixing opportunities have been nixed. What’s needed is federal regulatory rules of the oil game, for unless we prohibit the bagmen of Corporations from padding Congressional campaigns, oil slick beaches and dead sea Gulf, will pour us down the drain.
As long as “We The People” continue to be influenced by Palin zingers, insisting this is a problem for little Dutch boys with big fingers; as long as we believe in the evolution of gun-toting tea drinkers, instead of deep thinkers; as long as there are Rush wannabes getting cute with Robinette radio choices that add salt to New Orleans wounds; as long as limited vision of, “I really don’t give a damn about a clean energy bill, I’m worried about paying the bills,” is Mayor Kennon’s stand up routine on the dunes; as long as BP (for PR purposes) forbids the wearing of toxic protective masks; all of us continue to be the nut in the shell game being passed like gas. Over & over and around & around we are led by International Corporations we must take to task.

TRUE, I’ve been advocating sensible affirmative action, like moving our millions to local credit unions etc, since before it became popular fodder on national talk shows. So naturally, I’m always eager to form alliances with people in anything that informs the American public of at least one TRUE fact: We Have The Power, if only we will focus it on the correct targets -- the “Investors,” Boards of Directors and CEOs who run our country, our daily family life, our Supreme Court and our Congress from behind smoked/tinted glass shrines to themselves, and their partners in crime, the Bankstas!
Huge numbers of “We the People” need to be convinced to stop arguing among ourselves and instead stand like David with his sling shot (signs) -- but where it counts: around the corporate headquarters of industry giants. When the CEOs & Boards of Directors of Banks, Oil, Health Insurance, Pharmaceutical, Cigarette and Food manipulating “money changers” are forced to walk from their underground parking spaces through tremendous crowds of Americans of all types, shades, beliefs, ages and sizes, even silently holding their David & Goliath signs of “Enough is Enough,” the giants of industry will realize their ploy to keep us fighting among ourselves has failed to distract us from the TRUE Enemy of the State.

The Right is wrong and the Left is weak, but now we must all practice what we preach. There is nothing patriotic about off shore drilling, nor Christian in disposing of Environmentalists with ridiculing, and certainly nothing American about destroying natural resources, wildlife and the future of our children. Stop self-delusions and political fights, for the enemy of America is the enemy of both Lefties and Rights. BP, EXXON and International Corporations drain away our sense of purpose, pitching Red against Blue in Biblical proportions, while raping heartlessly our historical intentions.
Whether Genesis is factual literal history or poetic metaphor, it may be great parable for what’s beyond our earthly door. Thus enlightened and empowered, we advance more clearly with antidotal symbolic illustration. “Believe it or Not,” it’s no stretch to see the “garden” as Earth and “Adam and Eve” as human nation. Crystal clear in the story is, somebody named God insisted on a few conditions in return for the rent free terrific view of aplenty. It was all there right before their eyes, everything we would ever need to live, love and survive. More than enough to provide for all that live upon this sphere suspended in the universal heavens: fish, mammal, insect, fowl, even human kind, all in perfect union arrive. However, there was a catch with the deal, we should practice not just preach his spiel. “Ah there’s the rub.” Responsibility and Accountability for Rain Forest & Arctic Ice, Everglades & marshes, shorelines & beaches, Eco food chain and the Gulf vice. It’s all connected don’t you see, until Goliath corporations destroy the deep blue sea.

In the midst of holiday BBQ "Happy Memorial Day" wishes, remember our Nation's story: Veterans, discoveries, inventions, even wars of acquisition, and immigrants define America’s glory. First Spanish financed illegal missed us in 1492, but third time around, came closest to breaking Arizona’s new statute. National Guard standing fast at Border to prevent entrance of Queen Isabella’s illegal descendants is our right, but “papers please” on American streets for people with darker skin, is too police state akin.
As often as not, those who fought against our foes, journeyed from around the globe searching for what we propose. In 1524, French King sent Italian Giovanni da Verrazano, like that NY bridge thing, making famous, names like Martinique and St. Martin, while sparing on & off again with Spanish browns. Entre Vous all of you pale Germans, before redheaded owner of blacks spread the green to Napoleon. After Louisiana Purchase and until Katrina and BP deceived, the French Crown Levies around New Orleans port responded, “hold until relieved.”

As Uncle Gino used to say, “De House Never Loses, so if you wanna win, you godda be de House.” For years we’ve allowed The banking Houses to deposit in our House of Congress, and the House of America that Lincoln held together is slipping suspiciously close to perishing from this earth. Banks! Can’t live with them, can’t live without them. WRONG! Banks can’t possibly live without US, and it’s time “We the People” produced a new deck, reshuffled and became “The House” again.
Alert the Media: Our story is far more important than gossiping talking head pundits. After standing at hospital bed of my chain smoker brother, on the long drive home I had yet another game playing telephone conversation with a bank from whom accountability slides off faster than an oil slick balm. I’m writing today for your friends, neighbors, grandparents, but mostly each Dad and Mom. If you’ve heard this before, don’t stop me, read on and Alert the Media, before banks conduct our last song.
Although this story is the unauthorized bio slice of many of you, it is the true home owners’ story of my parents too. In January 2008, I realized Dad’s declining health was not only an emotional hell, but upon his death, my Mother would suffer financially as well. So considering the options of retired federal government employees, I called their mortgage banker with our pleas. The response was two years and five months of masterful dodges, a roller coaster ride of good cop/bad cop routines through a contrived maze of deception and condescension. What started four months before my father’s death, ended twenty-five months after his final breath.
The Friday before Mother’s Day, I got the congratulatory call. My Mother’s mortgage modification had been approved with a “sizable reduction.” This was a Mother’s Day gift he said. After more than two years, I felt elation. Last week I received the paper work to sign, seal and deliver with a check, by June 1, 2010. However as in Jan ’09, there was a mistake, for Mom’s monthly payments had been $1,249.54 and despite the call, the new paper work offered a “three month trial” period to determine if Mom would qualify for the modification after all. Believing in typos, I called and called, and crossed my fingers until Mon 5/24. The “offer of a $1,248.20 was far from a mistake,” he proposed, in a "let them eat cake" drone. "But, there’s hardly a difference, I had to intone. His response, “They, have determined that your mother can pay 31% of her monthly retirement.”
Asking who “they” might be and what “they” had to do with Mom and me, he confessed “The US Treasury Department.” Perplexed, I asked, why wasn’t this told me before this time? He answered, “the program just came out in late 2009.” “But, I explained, “we had been promised twice in ’08 & ’09, long before the program opined. There was a brief pause and then, “I have no idea what happened to your application back then.”
Hearing Uncle Gino in my ear I realized, had the Bank not delayed the process, my Mother would now have nothing to fear. So bailouts not being enough for them, they now collect it on both ends; Supplemented by government’s 31% mandate regardless of realistic household expenses: prescriptions, medical care and food on plates. Ironic my Dad worked for V.A., for never would he allow widows of Veterans to be treated in this way. Invading my proud memories of Dad, banker made clear, “if your Mother qualifies for the government program, we don’t offer anything else.”
Remember the Bank CEOs flipping off the Congress earlier this year, Uncle Gino again, in my ear. With a smirk in his voice, he ended the conversation with, “you have an offer of modification which you can accept or not.” “What choice do I have,” I asked, and he actually said, “I guess you don’t have one.” “I’ve looked at all the numbers, he insisted.” “Not all of them” I persisted. Proudly he confessed, “I’m not interested in the other slices in your Mother’s monthly expenses, I only looked at the numbers to determine whether or not she qualifies for a modification to pay her mortgage.”
MISSION POSSIBLE: “We the People” must become “The House.” The only way to stop any Goliath is as simple as a David’s stone: Take your money out of Wachovia, Wells Fargo, Citi, Bank of America et.al. and invest in your local Credit Union or Community Savings and Loan. If we want to prevent future oil spills etc, we must cut the cash flow of banks to the bone. The “tie that binds” ALL Americans as one is, big Banks help Corporations corrupt our government and eject Americans from their homes. Both Left and Right need join hands in union, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." Then “United We Stand” against the takeover of our United States of America by the Banksta "Enemies of the People."
“Once to every man and nation, comes the moment to decide, In the strife of truth with falsehood, for the good or evil side; Some great cause, some great decision, offering each the bloom or blight, And the choice goes by forever, ’twixt that darkness and that light.”
Demand the Media tell the stories of our Dads and Moms, exposing Corporate Secrets, Banksta Lies and Government Whispers!
