RACISM is the RIGHT CHOICE! PDF Print E-mail

Thank you Mr. Breitbart for hitting the nail RIGHT on the head.  The whole question of who we want to be and what we want America to represent, rests squarely on the shoulders of all who choose to either vote for what is just and visionary or leave us to the blowback of the RIGHT. We’ve got 100 days to choose “love it or leave it” or fix and heal it.  We can launch a renewal of our original exceptional national ideals, or we can continue the neo-con orchestration of “a house divided against itself cannot stand.”  “We have spawned a new race here – rougher, simpler, more violent, more enterprising and less refined…,”  so how do RIGHT extremist puppets like Rush and Andrew Breitbart continue to fool us?  Their “good ol’ boy” RIGHT kind of racism has always been the Party of Elephants in the room, slipping un-American interpretations between the lines of our Constitution.  What better way for early settlers to show the world they would no longer be oppressed, than by following European examples and oppressing “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” rosy complexioned people bearing corn and turkey in welcoming thanksgiving?  After decimating a Native American culture, we needed to import a new enslaved “working class.”  Even Beck, O’Reilly and Palin know, the easiest way to appear important is to make others feel like “ants.”

As a people, we’ve usually elected leaders who were quick to judge what is right or wrong, good or bad, ours or theirs.  We are a Nation founded by the descendants of risk takers who were smart enough to both recognize oppression and to desert it for a better life across the unknown sea, in the land of our “little brown brothers” that McKinley, TR and Taft would plunder to empower America over the powerless.  After all, it worked for Polk in the invasion of Mexico for Bush country, with of course, the assistance of “Manifest Destiny” and “Tyler too!”  So let us applaud Andrew Breitbart, and spend as much media time revealing him and Fox News in all their inglorious glory, as they worship at the feet of Fox’s parade of foxy clones:  You go Laura Ingraham, do Coulter proud.

Leading the charge, with hoods hidden from view, RIGHT Andy B., Cantor, Boehner and McConnell seize every opportunity to glow in “the Dark Side,” to shine their white, like “a city upon a hill, whose beacon of light guides freedom-loving people everywhere,” except of course in Arizona, or God forbid, the White House.  Such an Andy hill would be the perfectly RIGHT “Eagle’s Nest,” vantage point for looking down on all those farmers Shirley Sherrod helped and all those Americans who still could use a helping hand, if only the RIGHT club of Palin/Bachmann/Perino/Malkin weren’t able to blind good Tea Partiers and Independents with burning Bush rewrites.

NO BULL's-EYE -- JUST BULL! PDF Print E-mail

While the Goliath Corporate foot print still delivers a crushing load on the back of American families and Cheney beats on with a false heart, memories of how pretzel eating beer fest got us in this twisted mess, continue to fade from our rear view mirror, while repelling repeal residue of Boehner, McConnell and Cantor impedes national restoration, with baby steps in Palin furor.

It’s tough trying to balance short and long term goals when there’s no money coming in, but we still have choices on how to get around the bend:  Lincoln -- “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time,” or GW oil -- “You can fool some of the people all the time, and those are the ones you want to concentrate on.”  Which American do you want to be?  Most of the time anything seems better than nothing when we can’t see, but we’ve got to stop helping Corporate Un-American Activities cloud our vision with re-direction and misguided projection, “From Sea to Shining Sea.”

Here’s the cold water in our face:  After a quarter of a year, BP Oil Leak Stops, we hope.  Goldman Sachs barely notices the pinch.  Congressman Eric Cantor does a “drive-by” view through tinted limo windows of his unfair jobless job fair, to boost PR curb appeal for corporate sponsorshttp://www.youtube.com/thereasonablevoice1.

As the early morning rain clouds gave way to the steam of a hot Glen Allen, Virginia July day, sun drenched job seekers lined up in high heels, wing-tips and sneakers.  On and on they came in suits and ties, cut off jeans, open collars, sports jackets and bright colored dresses.  At 9am for the 10 am event, tenured after a decade in office, by Congressman Eric Cantor, there was no sign of the one hundred companies who were supposed to be attending, and whose names were being passed out, to the more than three hundred people already standing in a determined line, which encircled a third of Deep Run High School.

At 10am cars of applicants now sat bumper to bumper, as there was no room in the school parking lot, but still they came, wave after wave, of every description, from every direction, across Twin Hickory Drive, seemingly advancing on the Job Fair like an invading army, not of dead beats looking for a hand out, or to beat the system, as the banter of Cantor friends accuse, but American men and women, of every age, shape, size, color, and no doubt, political persuasion, all lining up just for the opportunity to work for a living, and there was not a single  “ant”  among them.

GULF SPRAYING POISON WATER PDF Print E-mail

"1,3-Propanediol does not appear to pose a significant hazard via inhalation of either the vapor or a vapor/aerosol mixture,” but since BP, ignoring EPA requests, has put TEN times that amount in the Gulf, the watery marriage linking oil to Gulf Water - to fish and wildlife - to sea spray - to cleanup volunteers wearing worthless masks - to breathing the air off the coast – to at best a BP mix which produces a divorce from an eco-system as we have known it.  More likely, however, like other riches driven corporations, (including Cigarette and Food industries), BP will produce still born sea food and a number of deaths not seen in the south since the Civil War.  Know thy enemy as thyself.  The enemy is what BP has “Left Behind.”

Within a week after 9/11, I met with someone who was dating a man involved with the construction, more specifically insulation of the World Trade Center.  She told me something then that I dismissed as a guy just trying to impress his date.  She said, he said, “the real danger will come when they start cleaning up because there’s stuff in the walls that was never supposed to be exposed to human beings.”  The largely unreported ever increasing numbers of life threatening illnesses occurring in those who  “survived”  9/11, only to die a slow and painful death, begs for an Erin Brockovich in our Gulf now, before the Gulf present becomes the nation’s future.

Remember when our grandparents used to say, “consider the source,” and we did.  Boy do I miss my Dad who was the quick quip master, things like, look at the driver, not the car.  Can’t tell you how many times those words have saved my life.  See, myopic extremists keep us car engrossed and driver ignorant.  No accident that media is used to narrow and dummy down public focus.  It’s just the old, “hey, look over there,” while we’re maneuvered to the next big sale on a bill of goods destined to be recalled.  It’s a grand and glorious world out there, melting away before our eyes in delicate slow motion, while waste lines excel and brains decelerate, distracted by projection of the projection of those who project the programmed programming.  Get it?  Got it?  Good, cause this life ain’t no movie!

Dad’s philosophy, “If you don’t have anything nice to say about someone…” is probably too far sunk in the depths of oil muck, mire and deception, to resurrect for a new “Dawn’s Early Light,” not with a money grabbing barking pit bull with visions of grandeur of being a growling grizzly high on her hinny, after fronting for the turkeys in the throes of death jig at the loss of their heads.  Unfortunately, turkeys are not the only ones losing body parts, lives and livelihoods on the altar of preach love thy neighbor, while denying thy nation a functioning visionary government, and don’t touch a penny of my Pentagon export expenses.

Patriotism is Tough Love PDF Print E-mail

I am a Patriot.  From dawn’s altearly light, I forged in the mud of revolution.  Then in wars for peace declared for us by the political self-serving, I still marched on, wading through the killing fields of the sludge of oil barons.  I’m called many things as I carry on seldom pausing on my path, but even if only an ant to thee I be, I take my stand atop The Ant Hill of Liberty.  And at your pretense of love for country filled with disdain for its countrymen, I laugh, for the original thirteen who sent me, I now rededicate my voice in reverence, though small.  For those who gave us our Freedom, for the 234th time I stand tall, for I am a Patriot for one and all.

Patriotism is not my proclamation of prideful national superiority, but rather a growing acknowledgement of the thanksgiving we owe, for the privilege of being blessed and spared most International woe.  Patriotism re-opens the closed mind by singing praises for all humankind.  It’s Ellis Island giving birth to all of “We the People” nourishing all that lives upon the earth.  Patriotism is about more than military might and bragging rights.  It’s why we reach out, join in and fight the good fight for Family, Neighborhoods, Peace on Earth while dancing the Global warming dervish.  A Patriot is not one who stays behind in time of war because, “I had other priorities in the '60s than military service."

From diminishing medicinal Rain Forest to hundreds of thousands of gallons of oil leaking in our Gulf, we are squandering tremendous streams of wealth and destroying our greatest resource: the earth itself.

Remember, what Albert Einstein said: “If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live. No more bees, no more pollination … no more men!”  Remember, this goes for women and children too, no matter what color, education or income, no matter where we live, be it farm, inner-city or oil drenched beaches, we are truly all connected as one.  Remember, no matter how red or blue our vote was cast, the present we’re in, with all its future potential, was born out of our past.  Remember, death of eco-system in the Gulf region affects ALL, including Americans, of all ages, in all 50 states.  Remember, as the food chain of the planet goes belly up and dies, we decay from the bottom up, “Left Behind” with no pizza, cheese burgers and fries.  Remember, sudden fierce storms of rain, wind, hail, and snow falls whose depths are measured in feet, all evidence an unfortunate ignorance of humanity’s responsibility to our warming global heart beat.  Remember too, all that live upon the earth will one day be gone, if humanity keeps sacrificing our planet like a chess game pawn.

Remember, deserting logic and rational thinking paves the way with gold, for self-serving Rush, Beck, Palin, Jim Bunning, even job saved Barton and Sharon Angles speaking lunacy in bold.  Remember the names of those who led the charge of our lights out brigade, Right back into the Dark Ages of Robber Barons waiting to be paid.  Remember “the small people,” John Yoo, Karl Rove and puppet GW Bush, voodooers all who plowed under our giant roots in law: deforestation of liberty masked as “National Security.” Leveling legal protections guaranteed by Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln, they remind us to remember Franklin’s admonition, for expedient, selfish, overly simplistic solutions, that serve the unknowing puppets of monied corporate brood, deliver us all into temptation, greed and the evil of those unprincipled small minds of crude.

The Reasonable Voice

Neither preacher, prophet nor politician am I, but beater of the drum, in celebration of the dreamers who dare to dream what was, and what we might become. One at a time the world we can change, if only we save ourselves from the manipulators of conflict and rage. Sailing onward, looking upward, always striding forward in constant pursuit of what we might be, on the next page. In service to the dreamers’ fulfillment of the dream, of those who dare to see what we can do to accomplish what we want to be. I'll aim to be the stone in your sling, whenever against the greed of Industry Goliaths you hurl, to save us all from an inhumane Corporate world. We all had dreams of grandeur once of how far we could go. Let us now recapture that essence and reignite our courage against the greedy foe. Now is always the greatest time to propel into action our best choices, so let us join together in transformation and raise our Reasonable Voices.
